This bursary was established by the Yellowhead Rotary Club of Prince George in 2018. This bursary is to recognize the participation of students in Adventures in Health Care in Prince George. The program offers financial assistance towards their education.
After pausing the program in late 2022, it is now being re-vamped, recognizing the increased needs for students in the post pandemic world and will restart in the spring of 2024.
1. The applicant demonstrates a high degree of perseverance (motivation and determination), financial need and satisfactory academic achievement.
2. Must have attended high school in School District 57 - Prince George.
3. Bursary is conditional upon currently being enrolled and participating in a program of 2nd or 3rd year studies at the post-secondary institution of the recipient’s choice in the field of Health Sciences.
They must also have attended the 2017,2018,2019 event or been invited to attend the 2020 Adventures in Health Care program in Prince George.
4. Bursary will only be awarded when Yellowhead Rotary Club of Prince George has received “confirmation of enrollment” document (which means you are attending that school now) from the post secondary institution.
5. Bursary must be used within 12 months of notification date.
6. The recipient must agree to have his/her name and photograph publicized.
7. Deadline for consideration of this years bursary is March 29, 2024.
8. Candidates may only receive this bursary once.
9. This award of $1,000.00 Cdn is paid directly by the donor to the recipient.
10. A minimum of one successful applicant will be awarded a bursary in any one year.
1. Student who were chosen to attend in the Adventures in Health Care LIVE program in Prince George in 2017,2018,2019 or 2020.
2. Student is enrolled and attending a full-time course load in the Health Care field, either a two or four year program in British Columbia.
3. Academic achievement(not emphasized) to provide opportunity for persons with challenges.
4. Additional interests and activities in either of the two fields of post secondary studies..
5. A letter of reference outlining community/and or school involvement must be included in the application.
